I recently surveyed my newsletter subscribers to get someinformation on what areas they need the most help with.An interesting bit of information came out of the survey: A LARGE number of people online are trying to figure out where to start, or aren't sure how to go about it.My answer for this problem is simply: Get started!Just get started. Find a subject that you enjoy, and thatyou are willing to spend time learning more about, andstart creating your website.Use the free hosting services, put up a bunch of banners,DON'T get your own domain name, make all the mistakes youpossibly can!Why would I give you such terrible advice?Because this is how you learn! This is how you learn thebasics of creating a web page, uploading to someone else'sserver, finding your site on the Internet, and then tryingto figure out how to get other people to find your site.Everything you read (I'm guilty of this too!) tells youthat you must have your own domain name before you evenstart, you must have a ton of content ready to put onyour website to keep people coming back, your website mustbe on a profitable subject that will surely make you a tonof money, you must drive traffic to your website, etc., etc.!The problem is that you spend all of your time trying tofigure out what your website is going to be about, andtrying to find a cool domain name for it, finding theperfect website hosting company that will keep your siteup 24 hours a day, finding the most profitable topic...But you never get started!Get started today... right now... not later... now. Go and create an account on a free hosting company, figure out how to create a web page, then upload it using the instructions that are given to you by the hosting company.Don't know how to create a web page? Go to your favoritesearch engine and search for "HTML tutorial" and thenread until you've learned what you need to know to createa simple page that says:"This is my new website and I'm proud of it!"Join an affiliate program... it doesn't matter which one, just figure out how to join one and join it.Go back and modify your web page with the information theygave you when you signed up for the affiliate program.Once you have done this, open your browser and try to findyour new website. Can you find it? If not, figure out why. Read the helpsection of your website host.Once you find your website, go back and change the fonton your page, bold some words, add a banner promotingthe affiliate program you joined.Move the banner to the bottom of the page instead of thetop. Just make changes to try and make it look better.Add more content. What content? It doesn't matter, justtalk about your favorite subject for a while: Fishing, skateboarding, racing cars, comic books, whatever. After you have done this, figure out how to add Meta tagsto your website with keywords and a description of whatit is about. When you have done this, go to every search engine youcan possibly find and figure out what you have to do tosubmit your new web page.Did you do this yet? If so, you are now on your way to making money on the Internet.Did I just tell you that your new web page is going tomake you money?Nope. The exercise that I had you follow took you fromstart to finish of creating and promoting a web page.I intentionally left out the little details because THATis what is going to get you on your way to making moneyonline.Having to go and figure out how to do each of those stepsis where you will start to build your foundation for future wealth making. The only way you are going to get the chance to do thisis to get started right now... then as you learn more, you will start to figure out what it takes to earn moneyonline.
