If a group you belong to resumes a group on Facebook, you will sign up to receive updates on the group. Facebook is like one stop shopping for social media info. MySpace is similar to Facebook, but not as influential. One must also search by name, firm, or affiliations. It is also a superb way to stay in contact with buddies and family. Mylot and Toluna are new to the social media scene and are just ramping up with ways to keep in contact with buddies, while taking surveys, and posting data to message boards. Twitter has to be the newest, high tech way of keeping in touch with individuals. You must tweet by sending out information on where you are or what you are doing. This is very similar to posting status on Facebook, but Twitter tweets go out to one and you can get alerts on your mobile phone or email account. Seems like anyone who is anyone is now on Twitter.
