In the heart of the Mayfair district, settled in a cozy gallery on Cork Street, the Modern Masters Gallery will be hosting a new exhibition solely dedicated to the modern master of surrealism himself, Salvador Dali.Featured in this show, titled The Unseen Dali will be previously unseen watercolors and sketches as well as three of his lesser-known 3D sculptures, The Shoe, Surrealist Object with a Symbolic Function, and Buste de Femme Restrospectif. Also expected to make an appearance is Dalis bronze monumental sculpture Profile of Time. Conceived in 1977 and cast in 1984, this lost wax work features a broken, straining tree trunk, with a melted clock draped over its branches, threatening to cause it to give way. The sculpture itself in nearly 13 feet tall, but will be on exhibit throughout the month of February in the Cork street Gallery. Additionally, Dance of Time will be shown.The Gallery itself is a storehouse for the greatest modern talent of the twentieth century and artists featured in its year-round collection include Antoni Clave, Nicholas Harding, Jannis Kounelis, Roberto Matta and Manolo Valdés.The international gallery of curated pieces seeks to showcase the more influential of the postmodern Surrealist masters and their works, while offering insights into the period and working styles of each of those featured.
