Thisshredder is small enough to easily fit under or on your desk for easyaccessibility. This shredder features SafeSense Technology, whichimmediately shuts the motor down when hands or body parts get too closeto the shredder throat. This allows for increased safety in homes withyoung children or pets. The P-58CS provides a great inexpensive alternative for ahome or small office that only needs to shred a few documents on aregular basis. This shredder offers a price point under a hundreddollars and provides great value for your money. Featuring auto start/stop technology, the P-58CS ensuressmooth and efficient shredder operation. This means that you don't needto worry about turning the shredder on and off between documents. Itwill automatically sense the paper when you insert it into the throat. Limitations/ Weaknesses: ThisShredder claims that it can shred up to 9 sheets of paper at a time.However, when we attempted to shred 9 sheets of paper the P58CSstruggled with the capacity. It also took about twenty seconds to fullyshred the lot of paper fed through it. This machine is intended for light home and small officeshredding, the P-58CS shredder will struggle shredding multiple sheetsof thicker paper or multiple pieces of mail. Though capable of shredding credit cards, it is notrecommended to do so on a regular basis. The machine should not be usedto shred more than one or two credit cards at a time as the motorstruggles with the weight of the cards. Although the P58-CS is a cross cut shredder and is moresecure than a comparable strip cut model, organizations with highlysensitive information may want to consider upgrading to a micro cutpaper shredder to increase security. This machine is not designed for continuous shredding.After a few minutes of shredding the motor will actually turn off sothat the shredder can cool down.
