Theyare as follows... Strengths: The most impressive thingabout this machine is its shredding capacity. It can destroy a trulymind-boggling 60 sheets per minute, which is about 7 sheets per pass.TheMS-450Cs can run continuously for 8 to 10 minutes, so you will be ableto get rid of a lot of unneeded paper in a very short time.Thisis a micro-cut machine for optimal security. It can turn a sheet ofpaper into hundreds of tiny pieces that measure approximately 5/64" x5/16".The MS-450Cs can destroy some electronic media,namely CD's and DVD's. Credit cards can also be destroyed with thisdevice, as can metal fasteners such as staples.There is aseparate feed opening for non-paper items as well as a separate wastebin. The capacity of that bin is 0.78 gallons, which is pretty small.Safetywas a top priority when Fellowes was designing this machine and this isevident in the inclusion of the SafeSense feature. This feature cantell when hands are too close to the feed opening and when it does so,the machine will shut off automatically.There is a window on the exterior of the device so you can see when the waste bin is getting full.Thisproduct will cease operating when one of the three following conditionsoccurs: a paper jam; problems with the waste bin; and/or if the motoris overheating.An auto-reverse function makes it easy to clear jams.Someother great user-friendly features are present including quietoperation and casters that make it easy to transport the machine.Finally, the machine looks very elegant and will make a very attractive addition to your office. Weaknesses: This device's feed opening isonly 8.75 inches wide. While this will be more than adequate forshredding legal- and letter-sized documents, larger papers will need tobe folded or cut before shredding. Note that if you do decide to foldyour paper, the machine's shredding capacity will go down for that pass.TheMS-450Cs was designed for use by one person, two at most. This isreflected in the machine's waste bin capacity which is a scant 4.5gallons. However, the bin is in a pull-out drawer, so emptying it ispretty easy.After the machine has run continuously for 8 to 10 minutes, it will need to cool off for 15 minutes before it can be used again.
