A turtle or a snail or a sward fish or a leafy sea dragon, what do they convey to the corporate? A turtle indeed can live for several hundred years, whereas a snail always carries its protective armors with them. The sward fish has an exceptionally strong saw like weapon to attack and tears its enemies or prey. Interestingly, the leafy sea dragon appears more like a sea plant than a fish. But are these animals qualify to be called as successful animals in nature? None of them are known to be great fighters or brave and bold. How should we define success? Is the animal that can live for many years or animals that always carry its defense weapons with them or will appear totally different should be called successful or animals that are very brave, bold and are fighting type deserve such title? All these animals are said to have evolved prior to the evolution of many advanced animals including man. During the early phase of evolution, survival for a longer period alone was considered to be as a challenge or objective of success. To survive or exist, animals acquired or are gifted with various mechanisms by the nature. All those weapons/defense shields provided to different animals were only to survive. During the early phase of evolution, perhaps, the competition would have been relatively less and hence the competitive survival was not there among most of the animals that are evolved during the early stage.But with time, the competition would have struck these animals badly. But all these animals would have kept mere survival as their primary focus and hence these animals would have opted instead of fighting & competing than conceding & retracting to a safe or mere existence. By being harmless, they could survive with least threat. This may be the reason why the evolution has favoured all these animals to be very innocent, naïve and with non fighter energy. Even to evolve from primitive level to an advanced level, the species has to have the tendency and only then the process of evolution also will help to advance or progress in the evolutionary ladder. What this conveys to corporate and its employees? Many employees in most corporate would prefer to be like a turtle or snail or sward fish or leafy sea dragon. Their sole purpose is to secure the job and be with the organization till superannuation or beyond. They lack the courage to question the self, seek & search their own identity & purpose and energy or effort to achieve. Interestingly they do see dreams and will have high aspirations, but what it produces in them is nothing but grief, complain and frustrations. They are not born for success but just to survive in the corporate ecosystem. Identify such employees and do the necessary corrective action. They cannot contribute to the growth of the organization. When the organization evolves to the next level, these people find it difficult to understand and accept the new culture and people. It is not how long one live in an organization but what for they live and what they achieve both for themselves and the organization alone matter.
