A DALI control system requires a bus power supply that provides power to DALI bus, control devices and control gears. The control devices are master LED controllers that sends out DALI signal and the control gears are slave LED controllers that receives signal. The DALI LED driver is a slave that converts DALI to PWM to dim the connected LED light. The control device can be a rotary knob or a touch panel. Every slave controller has to be assigned with a single light address so that they can be controlled individually or assigned with a group address for group control. Total 64 light addresses and 16 group addresses are available in a system. Generally, a master controller is required to do above work. But some DALI LED drivers in the market can assign address manually, which means users can greatly save installation costs and time.
