With the passage of time, many of our comforts have become our necessities. You must be thinking how? So, the answer is easy. Over the past few decades, when the computer was invented, it was used for the mere purpose of record keeping and making the calculated data easier. But, with the emergence of internet, the computer has become our necessity. Many people are getting jobs just because of sound computer knowledge. Many are using it for talking to their dear ones via chatting. Internet has connected the whole globe together. The computer knowledge has now taken place as an essential subject for educating children in schools, even in the third world countries. Another example is that of the mobile phones. In the near past, people relied only on the land line phones available at their homes. But with the invention of the mobile phones, it has become the necessity and thus has replaced the land lines at many places. At many places, our luxuries have also converted into our necessities. Digital cameras were once considered as a luxury, at least in the third world countries, but now, they have almost completely replaced the older cameras, because of many of their advantages, like, you can delete the picture which you dont like, or you dont have to use the reel, or that, you need not get them developed, instead just put them on computer and get your snaps. Likewise, laptop computers were a luxury before, but now they have become a necessity. Instead of using heavy desktops, one prefers to use the lesser space occupying laptops, easy to carry anywhere. Another very simple example of our comforts being changed into necessity is that of the black boards, used in the older times, which are now replaced by the white boards, thus preventing oneself from the dusty chalks and the difficult writing on the board. Can you imagine living without a good sound system in your house or car, if you are a real music lover? The answer is no! In this way, these simple inventions of science have slowly increased the mans necessities by replacing his comforts and luxuries. Who knows, that a time may come, when even the space shuttles may become a necessity for human beings as is displayed in many movies! These changes, which take decades or centuries to develop, occur as a result of changes in the overall thoughts of people, changes in the life styles, and changes, which influence the nations over quite a period of time. Its not just a simple matter of a few months or years.
