To pursue a career in MBBS, every aspirant needs to give the All India Level Entrance Exam. But, there are some institutions like JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education) which are formed by an act of the parliament are exempted from filling their seats through NEET exam. They conduct their own entrance test to fill the MBBS seats. The difference between NEET and JIPMER MBBS: Both exams offer admission to pursue a medical degree and to become a Doctor. The only difference is that in NEET exam there are a significant number of seats because it takes admissions for almost all the colleges in India. While in JIPMER Exam, there are only 200 seats available for the MBBS course at the institution. Comparing JIPMER and NEET Exam: There is a lot of difference in the exam pattern of the NEET exam and the JIPMER exam. The MBBS aspirants need to take care of some things to simultaneously prepare and clear the exams. The difference between the exam patterns is explained below. 1) The mode of JIPMER exam is online. It is the computer based exam. Here the candidates have to practice the online mocks to get acquainted with the nature of the online exam. While NEET exam is pen and paper based exam where the candidate needs to fill the OMR sheet. 2) The number of questions in JIPMER exam is 200 which need to be solved in 2 hours and 30 minutes while the number of questions in NEET exam is 180 which need to be answered in 3 hours. It is pretty clear that to clear the JIPMER exam; a proper time management is required. 3) The JIPMER question paper language will be in English only while the NEET exam, question paper will be in English, Hindi as well as in other 8 regional languages which include Assamese, Gujarati, Tamil, Oriya, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu and Kannada. 4) In the JIPMER exam, 4 marks will be allotted for every right answer ticket by the candidate, and there is no negative marking for the wrong answer. While in the NEET Exam, for every correct answer, 4 marks will be allocated but for every wrong answer -1 mark will be deducted. 5) The number of questions in JIPMER exam will be- Biology (60), Chemistry (60), Physics (60), Logical and Quantitative Ability (10) and English Comprehension (10). While the number of questions in NEET exam will- Biology (90), Chemistry (45) and Physics (45). It is clear that the candidates with a good command over in English will have a better edge in JIPMER exam and NEET Exam, the Biology needs to be studied thoroughly.JIPMER 2017 entrance exam will be conducted on 4th June 2017, and NEET 2017 will be held on 7th May 2017. There is almost one month in between NEET and JIPMER; the candidates can leave the preparation of English and Aptitude to study it in one month time.
