There are many forms in which rummy is played all over theworld. Out of them most popular and liked is Oklahoma Gin rummy. The rules of Oklahoma gin is verysimilar to gin rummy and is played between two players. All the rules arealmost similar to gin rummy except the ranking of the cards. Oklahomagin rules The rules of this game are very simple and easy tounderstand. Game is played between two players and you need only one standarddeck. An ace in Oklahomagin rummy is treated as lowest card, therefore A-2-3 is accepted but A-K-Q isnot. All the number cards are equal to their face value. Each of the three facecards is equal to 10 points. Dealer in Oklahomarummy is chosen randomly and selected only for the first game. In rest of thegames, player who wins the game become dealer in the next game. Duty of thedealer is to distribute 10 cards among each player. The next card is placedface up at table which starts the discarded pile. Remaining cards are placedface down which make the stock. The objective of the game is to remove all your cards bymelding cards. There are two types of meld in Oklahoma rummy, one is sequence and other isgroup. Three or four cards of same rank comprise a group and three or more thanthree cards in particular order are called sequence. Playing Oklahomarummy is also similar to gin rummy. The game starts with player who sits nextto the dealer; he draws a card either from discarded pile or from stock. Theplayer if needed can add that card into his cards and throw another card inspite of that card in discarded pile. The first player to meld his card incombination of sequence and group knocks the other player. After knocking, each player calculate the value of theircards, if the player who knocks has more value than rival then he gets pointsequal to the variation between score of both players. If knocker scores lessthan opponent then, other player scores points and gets the difference betweenthe two hands. If knocker in Oklahoma rummy knockswithout unmatched cards, then it is called as going gin. In this case knockerreceives 25 bonus points + deadwood count of opponent player.
