Fans understand Wolverine as a dark, quiet, loner, with something of a misanthropic edge. Despite this, he has taken on roles as a father figure to many young mutant females and has had numerous sexual and intimate relationships with older women, mutants and humans alike.As his loner status suggests, Wolverine is known to disband from his mutant allies for a long time to deal with personal issues that demonize and plague his mind. This is one of the things that often makes him less than jovial throughout the X-Men comic book series. To de-stress, he has been known to frequent many bars and strip clubs as he travels from city to city on his motorcycle.
