When I was a little girl I always knew when fall was here. After school we would skip and walk and dawdle down to the local grocery store where we would pick out the biggest pomegranate we could find. That is the only time of the year we could buy them. Back then there was no such thing as pomegranate juice, frozen pomegranates or as far as I know recipes using them. I remember biting into that big ball being careful not to let the juice get on my blouse. My friends and I would pick out the seeds one by one and laugh as we stuck out our bright red tongues at each other. Another good part about it is that they only cost 10 cents each. That sure dates me.Just like I knew when fall was here by the pomegranates showing up in the stores there is a time to organize clutter in the bedroom. The best way to organize clutter is to stay organized so clutter doesn't gain a toe hold. But sometimes that is easier said than done. Actually it is an ongoing activity which makes it much easier to do before piles and clutter start piling and cluttering drawers and closets.How to organize clutter in the master bedroom:1. Take stock of what is causing clutter in the bedroom. Once you can see what is causing the clutter you can take steps to organize the clutter.2. On the flat surfaces like dressers and nightstands things such as cosmetics, lotions, change, keys, cell phones, purses etc. can create clutter. Place attractive, decorative baskets to corral these items. If some of the items don't belong in the bedroom make a place for them to live in another place in the home. Make it a habit to put things where they belong.3. In the drawers put drawer organizers to contain clothing like lingerie, socks, and undies. When things are contained they don't grow and become jumbled together. It saves time and frustration. It is faster to find what you are looking for when in a hurry to get dressed and it doesn't take your precious time always needing to straighten them.In the sock drawer put socks in drawer organizers according to the type of sock. Socks can be separated by sport, dressy, every day, and work. If there are a lot of socks this makes it much faster to find what you are looking for and they don't become all mixed up together.In the lingerie drawer put drawer organizers to separate the different kinds of lingerie. Or neatly stack them and when putting them back in the drawer after laundering them make sure they go in the pile where they belong rather than just stuffing them in the drawer.4. When hanging clothes back in the closet hang them with their same kind. (Blouses together, skirts, pants etc) It is tempting to just jam them in any 'ole place but it saves time and energy to put them where they belong. And it will be faster to get dressed when going out to work or to play.5. Help me, help me I'm suffocating---do you have a chair in the bedroom that is screaming this beneath laundry or clothes that have been thrown there? Take the time every day to organize clutter on the chair by not cluttering the chair in the first place, which takes no time at all. A chair in the bedroom is nice to cuddle up in to read or sit on to put on shoes. It is not meant to be a clothes hanger. Get in the habit of hanging up clothes after being worn instead of throwing them on the chair. It will save time and energy.
