Vehicle collisions can happen anywhere, anytime and toanyone. A young boy was unwillingly killed by his father while playing outside. His father was operating a snowplow inMaine at the time and failed to see his son prior to striking him with thelarge vehicle. Family members and neighbors are saddened by the situation thathappened at an unwarned time. Nathan Capponi, a six-year-old was rushed to Central MaineMedical Center in Lewiston, Maine after he was struck by the plow his fatherdrove. He was declared dead on Wednesday by medical authorities. "The boy was on a scooter playing in his driveway ashis father was backing up the truck," Department of Public Safety spokesmanSteve McCausland told reporters in a release. Kevin Capponi, the father of the deceased child wasextremely saddened by the situation. The 36-year-old was about to concludeplowing the snow out of his driveway when out of nowhere, the vehicle collidedwith the child. After striking Nathan, the child was immediately rushed to thehospital by ambulance from his Quaker Ridge Road home around 6:45 a.m. onWednesday. Community members have expressed sorrow and disbeliefregarding the situation. At the Circle K convenience store and gas station on Route202 in Greene, Melissa Carmichael and Ben McGray told reporters that the newsregarding the accident spread quickly and that the feelings the father must be experiencingare unfathomable. "I can't imagine what he's going through,"Carmichael told reporters."It must be horrible," said McGray, whose motheronce took care of Kevin Capponi.Through Facebook Capponi expressed his sorrow regarding thedeath of his family member. "Please forgive me and my family. I love himwith all my heart. It is now broken." Nicole Beachesne, a neighbor, said, "I'm not sure how Ifeel" about the accident. "I guess I am in shock, but I feel reallybad for the parents."In general, most community members are speechless regardingthe incident. Amongst them is Kim Spencer the assistant principal at GreeneCentral School who declined to comment on the situation and said that theschool would issue a statement responding to the boy's death at a future date.Some left words of comfort through the online social mediasite for Capponi. "There is no forgiveness needed Kevin," wroteChristopher Miller. "Your family is caring and wonderful to be with. Wefeel joy whenever your family enters the room. You both look into the best foreach other and the kids.
