Avoid using normal cleaning supplies like soaps, detergents, solvents, furniture polish, oils, varnish, abrasive cleaners, detergent soaps, or ammonia water. For butter, oil, or grease stains, wipe off excess with a clean dry cloth, and then leave alone as the spot should dissipate into the leather after a short period of time.Metal FurnitureA cloth or sponge using water and mild, non-detergent soap and wiped dry is the simplest method to clean metal. Abrasive scrubbers or cleaners should not be used as they can scratch the finish, and expose the metal to rust-inducing moisture. To remove oxidization from aluminium furniture, use a solution of equal parts of white vinegar and water; avoid alkaline cleaners as they cause oxidation.
