In Autism it is very common to see huge issues with regards to chronic infections. In my years of practice Ive battled things like chronic yeast, parasites and bacterial infections in children with Autism. And the yeast problem is such a big one that we almost assume that a child with Autism either has a problem with yeast overgrowth or will at some point, that is how prevalent it is. Diets such as the specific carbohydrate, low oxalate and gluten and casein free diets can help, especially if done correctly by limiting artificial colors and flavors and also the sugar. But many times it takes remedies or various medications, such as Diflucan or Nystatin, to really make an impact on yeast. But yeast can be very persistent for some children and for some of those kids I have implemented biofilm protocols. Biofilms are polysaccharide matrixes that the organism creates to protect it from the immune system.A remedy that has become quite popular lately is MMS. I have also seen success in my own practice using MMS, a chlorine dioxide solution.
