Awhile ago, I got an email from one of the "gurus" I follow and it shocked me. The gist of it was this person wanted to trade services for a household item.To say it floored me would be an understatement. What was worse was a few days later t Automation technologies represent a fundamental aspect of any modern industry. Color is the most important part of your brand image, as that is theliteral picture people think of when they imagine your business.  Ifyour brand has colors that fit your business, the results can be quitepowerful.  Unlike other business decisions, choosing colors takesknowledge of psychology and art, plus the designer must also be verycreative and unique if they wish to make an appealing andthought-provoking color scheme.  Choosing the colors for yourbusiness is difficult, as you need to take a long time to think aboutwhat would work.  Once you pick your colors, it is difficult to changethem, because then the majority of previous branding work would havegone to waste.  Color schemes should match the aura and feel of yourbusiness.  If you sell a light, calm product and want to be seen aseasy-going, you should use a mix of two or three tinted colors.  If youwant to be seen as a very strong, powerful company, then multiple, heavily contrasting colors should be used.  Unlike other parts of yourbrand, color scheme cannot be changed later on without drastic negativeeffects. If your business goes through a large change, such asmoving from a medium sized company to a large company, or addingseveral additional categories of products, then some changes to thescheme could be made.  However, it is not the colors that should bechanged, but the way they are arranged.  For example, if your colorscheme was gradients of black and red in a rectangle, you could changeto gradients of black and red in a yin-yang as a symbol of yourgrowth.  As long as the shape change is not too drastic (a yin-yang isessentially a circle and rectangle to circle is still consistent withgeometric shapes), it can be executed successfully.  Changescan potentially work out very well, especially pre-planned changes. Letting your customers know of a big alteration can stir excitement andanticipation.  Websites that pre-announce redesigns usually seesubstantial response from their visitors/members, and the same couldwork for any business.  Whatever changes are made, the colors must staythe same, because those colors are in everybody's mind and you do notwant to throw all that away.
