There is just something about a t-shirt that most people can't pass up. They are probably the most worn pieces of clothing in just about anybody's closet. What makes them so popular? Is it because they are so comfortable? Is it because other than a designer t-shirt, they are so affordable? It is probably a combination of the two, but there may be another reason. Most people do not get to wear t-shirts on an everyday basis.After graduating from school and entering the workforce, there is usually a strict dress code compliance. Wearing a tshirt represents freedom, freedom of commitments such as work and the work week. Most people can identify with a hard work week and on weekends just want unwind and relax. Part of that relaxation, is relaxing casual wears, also know as the uniform of the weekend. The uniform usually includes a shirt and shorts in summer. It's the same with sneakers.Most people do not get to wear sneakers to work during the week, so when they finally slip them on at the end of the week, they know that the weekend has arrived and there is a freedom in that feeling. Sure, t-shirts and sneakers are comfortable and relaxing, but they are more than that. They really are a cultural phenomenon. There is nobody out there that doesn't have at least one t-shirt hanging in the closet or folded up in a drawer and at least one pair of sneakers tucked under the bed or in the closet. These two pieces of clothing represent a uniform for the young as well.T-shirts and blue jeans have long been the dress code for Friday and Saturday nights. You can not go anywhere without seeing people dress in the uniform of youth and cool. But the reason t-shirts and blue jeans stay in year after year, fashion is still a mystery. Why are they so popular and continue to be among the biggest clothing lines sold through so many different age groups?They have become icons, larger than the trends and fashions because you can always return to them without fear of sticking out too much or too fit. The blue jeans and sneakers can go in any direction, may be general and popular and the fight against the culture and rebellious.
