Awhile ago, I got an email from one of the "gurus" I follow and it shocked me. The gist of it was this person wanted to trade services for a household item.To say it floored me would be an understatement.What was worse was a few days later t Automation technologies represent a fundamental aspect of any modern industry. Want to reach more people in yourbusiness! Is it time to step out in a bigger way? Well, one ofthe best ways I know, to grow your business and grow your list, is to host alive event.This is not something that comestogether over night. One of the reasons I am successful when itcomes to hosting an event is because I have a plan, and I work the plan.Here are some of the simple steps thatgo into that plan.1)      WORKWITH A COACH.  If itwas not for my amazing business coach, I would have made numerous (and costly)mistakes in planning my one-day events and my 3-day events. You’ve got to workwith someone who knows – someone who’s been there – someone who has succeeded.Live events are costly and you want to go into it with a solid plan.2)      HAVE APLAN. Working with a coach who has had the experience gives youpeace of mind, right out of the gate. You should be planning your events a yearout – and map out all the details. It all starts with having a vision and atheme and everything flows from that.3)     IDENTIFY YOUR ‘WHY’.  You don’t want to be planning andhosting an event ‘just because everyone else is doing it’. What is your why?Get grounded. Get clear. Get focused.4)      PLANTHE FINACIAL RESOURCES. In working with my coach, we mapped outthe plan/strategy for growing my business, then we identified ‘wealth buckets’for different areas of my life and my business – and then specificallyidentified a wealth bucket for the event.5)      STARTSMALL. Begin with scheduling one-day events first. Get someexperience under your belt. Learn what works and what doesn’t work for you andfor your business. Learn how to plan and budget for financial success.6)        HIRE THE RIGHT TEAM FOR SUPPORT.  This is not something you can do alone – and succeed to the degree that youwill want.  Consider hiring the appropriate virtual assistants,copywriters, graphic artists, tekkie VA’s, (there is SO much that goes onbehind the scenes in the early marketing stages for an event), an event planneretc.7)      CREATEYOUR MARKETING PLAN. You need to have a plan created at least 6months in advance for a one-day event, and for certain a year ahead for a 3-dayevent. These can make or break you, financially, emotionally, physically, etc.– Get a plan, get the right team, get your ducks in a row!8)     COMMUNICATE REGULARLY. THIS is such an important step. The morecommunication, the better – email, voicemail, Skype – whatever method works.But do it! Keep everyone in the loop.9)     FOLLOW-UP! The event is just one step in the businessdevelopment process. It doesn’t end the day of the event. You must have afollow-up plan in place. That’s where a lot of the money is!10)  CELEBRATE! Thisis hard work people. As I said earlier – it is not for the faint of heart! Andwhen you hire the right team, they will typically work their hearts out tosupport you in every way. Be sure to acknowledge them, appreciate them andcelebrate with them!For those of you who want to be awealthy woman leader – events are one of the best ways to attract idealclients and make more money! Follow my steps above and growyour business in a strategic and profitable way!
