Perhaps you are planning on visiting Argentina on your South America Vacation. Three recommended places to visit would be Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and Salta. From Salta you can cross the Chilean border to visit San Pedro de Atacama in the beautiful and wondrous Atacama desert. Fly into Buenos Aires, the lively and happening capital city of Argentina. The international airport is serviced from almost anywhere and Buenos Aires is largely the gateway to the rest of this amazing country. You will want to give yourself plenty to time to experience this amazing city where the streets are teeming with culture. The people are all smiles and are out on the town, in the restaurants, markets and parks during the day and in the clubs and bars all night. There are walking tours, biking tours, segway tours, tours to nearby sites like the Parana Delta or Uruguay. There are a plethora of museums and culture opportunities such as the Tango. No matter how much time you reserve for this city, you wont be able to see and do it all. From Buenos Aires, take a flight to Iguazu Falls. This magnificent collection of 275 waterfalls along a small stretch of the Iguazu River makes up arguably the largest waterfall in the world. The falls are located on the Argentina/Brazil/Paraguay border and it is recommended that you visit the falls from both the Argentina National Park and the Brazil National Park as both offer very different and equally amazing perspectives of this amazing natural beauty. Take a flight from Puerto Iguazu to Salta, located in the northwestern part of Argentina. Aside from an impressive collection of museums, churches and cathedrals Salta is located in the northern desert region of Argentina and there are some beautiful day trips that ought to be taken advantage of while you are there. In fact, why not just combine Chile with your Argentina vacation. From Salta it is possible to overland it to San Pedro de Atacama. Geminis and Pullman bus companies service Salta to San Pedro de Atacama on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday morning at 7am. The bus takes all day but it is a great way to see the countryside around you. You will pass through Jujuy and Paso de Jama if you were wanting to break the trip up you could spend the night in either of these cities. From Tierra del Fuego you can even take a ferry back to Argentina if you want to continue your tradition of over-landing the borders.
