Since this is almost a commercial district, this is mainly where expats and locals get their supplies, coming from either Belize City or Corozal and other nearby places. PlacenciaOne of the growing expat communities, Placencia has the best beaches in the mainland area where expats choose to live. And when they feel like getting a place in the mainland yet still have great beaches, this is the place for them. This area also has a regional airport for flights across the country.San IgnacioYou won't see the bay or beach here, but it still has the same beauty you can find anywhere else in Belize. This is one of the urbanized areas, like Santa Elena, and is one of the two biggest in the country. This area also receives a rather higher amount of rainfall than in the northern areas.
