Thailand is well known as a cheap holiday with some beautiful beaches and great shopping, probably the 2 most visited places by tourists is Pattaya and Phuket. Known many years ago for its nice beaches and crazy nightlife.Phuket, is a still a decent place to go, but it is way over developed and their seems to be so many scams and tourists getting ripped off its just not what it was say about 15 t0 20 years ago.The beaches in Phuket are not as nice either, one good thing is that you can go on some great tours to Koh Phi Phi, but its is only good when its not peak season as it just seems to have way too many tourists there.Pattaya has turned into a mafia riddled place, there is always shootings, murders, rapes that happen on almost a daily basis, this is not somewhere that you would want to take your family on a holiday too. I was there a few months ago and can not understand why people would bring there family. The beaches are really filthy, it is filled with sex tourists and you can see prostitues around the early afternoon wearing almost nothing, not something you would want your kids to see or let swim in such filthy beaches. Pattaya seems to be getting worse every year.Now below are some of the new places that tourists are strating to visit and are getting very popular, I also think you will get a much better experience too and will not get scammed too.Koh Chang, this is the second biggest Island on Thailand and has some of the best beaches in Thailand, its about 6 hours drive/ferry from Bangkok and is becoming a must see destination in Thailand, the white sands, the increasing nightlife and large range of activities is making this place a bit hit with tourists.Khao Sok, In my opinion is the best rainforest in the world, it has so much wildlife that you will be amazing of seeing so many living things in one place. The Jungle tours and treks are fantastic and something you will remember for the rest of your life. It is so natural that you will even feel at home.Trang, this is were many Thai people go for holidays, its a little more south that Phuket and it about an 1 hour flight from Bangkok. If you love the water, love cheap high quality seafood, this is the place to be, there is many snorkeling tours available and you have to go to the emerald cave if you in Trang, It will be the highlight of your trip.There is other places that are also starting to develop into a popular tourist destination, but these 3, Koh Chang, Khao Sok and Trang are my favourites and I would highy recommend them.
