Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chile’s national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w

During new year long weekend, my old high school friends asked me if I wanted to go somewhere together. At first I was hesitated because we all know there would be packed everywhere in the long weekend. But they wanted me to join since we hadn't meet up for so long. So I decided to go.We met up to plan our trip two weeks before our journey. One of my friend who organized this trip told me that it wasn't hard to go somewhere but it was hard to find a place to stay. They were all booked out months before we called, we were running out of time!So I talked to my friends and we decided to give it a go. My friend found a resort in Khao Sok that still had rooms for four of us. She booked the rooms and we were ready to go on Friday. We began our trip on Friday night. I packed my backpack the night before and brought it to my office so I can go to Khao Sok straight after work. We planed to go there by train by meeting up at Hua Lampong train station, the biggest train station in Bangkok. Our train would leave at 7:30pm. Some of us arrived earlier, some arrived really late, and some never been on this sort of long distance train before. It's almost 7:30pm but one of my friends still wasn't here. I called her she was on the way but traffic was very bad (of cource it's Friday long weekend). Then the train started to move. My friend called her again she was walking to the train station. Unluckily, it's too late the train left. So I called her to take on motorbike taxi and go to the next station. She finally arrived and joined us at the next station (paid 300 baht for motorbike taxi). After leaving Bangkok at 7:30pm on Friday, we arrived Surat Thani province at about 6am in the morning. We then took a small local public bus called Songtaew to a local market for breakfast. I wasn't sure whether it's songtaew or bycicle...so slow! Took so long to get there but no one on the bus was complaining. This is the different between urban living and rural living. In the city everything is moving fast while people just chilled out, friendly and more relax in the rural area. After breakfast, we took a mini bus to Khao Sok National Park. It's a public bus in orange color which everyone know that it's the cheapest local bus. We took the bus line that pass Khao Sok which is Takuapa-Phuket line. It took about 45 minutes with stunning scenery, pass beautiful Ratchprapa damn or Cheiw Larn (original name) to Khao Sok National Park.To be continued...
