Like any American, traveling occasionally is just what I love doing and I bet you share the same stuff with me. But traveling does not mean that you would be safe. Escaping from our job and other stressful activities is just something that w Torres del Paine is among the biggest of Chile’s national parks, occupying almost 600,000 acres (242,000 ha) of land in the south on the border with Argentina. It is also among the most important, receiving a significant proportion of domes

Ohh-la-la, Paris is known to be one of the most romantic cities in the world and I do so agree. There are so many romantic sites in Paris to visit, including Ile de la Cite, Jardin du Palais Royal, Pont des Arts and Canal St Martin. But there is nothing more romantic than the view of the famous Eiffel Tower with its magical display of lights at night, whether it be from the benches of Trocadero Gardens or standing in the middle of Parvis du Trocadero. The Tower got its famous name from its creator, Gustave Eiffel. It is considered to be the tallest building in Paris and one of the most well-recognized structures in the world. It stands an astonishing 1.063 feet in height and weighs 10,000 tons! It has three accessible levels for the millions of tourist that visit each year. There are 347 steps to the first level, 674 steps to the second level and 1,710 steps to the third level but visitors are only allowed to walk up to the second level, the elevator lift has to be taken to get to the top of the tower. Although visitors can always use the elevator lifts to get to any of the three levels, going up and down those stairs does have its benefits. Not only will you get a great workout, you will also save some extra cash and avoid those long lines to the elevators. But who would have thought that someone once wanted this beautiful monument taken down? The Eiffel Tower was actually built as a temporarily structure for the Exposition Universelle in 1889 and served as the entrance arch to the Fair. The monument was supposed to last for the duration of the Exposition but since it was so well-built and engineered, the people of Paris decided to leave it in position. Surprisingly enough, some people didn't like the view of the tower and wanted to bring it down, but lucky for us, it was turned into a radio transmitter and saved. It was said to have cost 260,000 to build the tower but the money was recovered within a year through ticket sales. The Eiffel Tower has been standing tall and proud for over 100 years and continues to stand today, being visited my millions of people around the world that are in love or looking for romance in the beautiful city of Paris. L'amour est grand! Article Tags: Eiffel Tower
