Once known as a bit of a seedy area, St Kilda has over the years been transformed into a bustling and fashionable shore side suburb. A short Tram ride or drive south of the city centre, St Kilda is home to a number of cafes, picturesque walks and, of course, Melbourne's most famous beach. The Queen Victoria Market is located just north of the CBD and is a must-visit for foodies and history buffs alike. Opened in 1878, the market features many building dating back to this period and today its stalls and shops spill over with fresh meat and seafood, produce, baking and deli goods. For those who wish to discover what lays beyond Melbourne's city borders, there are a number of excellent drives to open your eyes and stretch your RV's legs. The Great Ocean Road is considered to be one of the most scenic drives in the worlds and will take you along the south-west coast of Victoria. There are a number of noteworthy sights along this route but by far the most anticipated is the 12 Apostles - 12 giant rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean. This drive also takes you through to the Shipwreck Coast; a beautiful but fearful coastline that remains the final resting place for over fifty ships that were lost to its rough seas and jagged rocks.
