The film begins with the friendship between a horseand a man called Albert, the film is touching and follows the extraordinaryjourney of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring thelives of all those he meets.Dartmoor provided a stunning landscape for many of thescenes in the film. There are rolling valleys, wide open landscapes,waterfalls, rushing rivers and ancient eerie forests. The scenery can bewelcoming and perfect for walks, but at the same time can be challenging, with avaried terrain which can be extreme in some locations.  The film highlights the beauty of Dartmoor and Spielbergpraised the stunning location by saying, “I have never before, in my long andeclectic career, been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experiencedfilming War Horse on Dartmoor...
