If you want to go far north, the lochs, glens, mountains and rivers of Scotland offer plenty of opportunities with walks with the dog in stunningly scenic landscapes. Some of the big country house (aka Scottish castle) hotels are set in huge grounds meaning youve a ready-made pet friendly recreation ground right on the doorstep. For fans of dramatic scenery, the northern extremes of England can match the panoramic delights of Scotland both in the west with the Lake District with its picturesque waters and mountains and the stark but beautiful Yorkshire Moors in the East. The North doesnt have the monopoly on beauty though the Peak District will pitch in for the Midlands whilst the Cotswolds, Exmoor and Dartmoor will shout out for the South West. Go south for the New Forest or maybe its the green fields of Englands garden, Kent, that has the most appeal. Explore gorgeous Wales too. Choose a pet friendly hotel in Snowdonia National Park for sheer ruggedness or maybe you prefer to answer the call of the rolling valleys and gentler peaks of the Brecon Beacons in the South. Of course, some would say, you cant beat the Welsh coast and special mention must go to Pembrokeshire here.
