In those days Parma, Italy, will host the secondoutdoor tourism exhibition, an event that was born last year but that hasalready become a must in the field of outdoor tourism. Following the success achieved last year, feverishpreparations for the second exhibition are under way. Also this year the eventwill be organized by Fiere di Parma with APC (Caravan and Camper ManufacturersAssociation) in continuity with last years exhibition, in view of the goodresults achieved in 2010, but there will also be some changes and improvementsto make the event even more appealing and satisfying for visitors andexhibitors. In fact this is not a simple fair, but the exhibition thatrepresents Italy in the circuit of ECF, the European Federation that deals withthe promotion of caravanning and that represents the interests of the organizationsthat are commercially involved in this business, form the companies specializedin caravan sale to caravan manufacturers. The exhibition that takes place inParma is one of the international events that depend on the ECF and that are well-known all over Europe, like theCaravan Salon of Dusseldorf and the Salon des Vehicules de Loisirs of Paris. Animportant acknowledgement for the exhibition, which includes also a permanentobservatory on camper and outdoor tourism managed by CISET, the InternationalCenter of Studies on Tourism of the Ca Foscari University of Venice. The Outdoor Tourism Exhibition of Parma is meant to bea privileged observation point on the world of caravanning and everythingconcerning it, a meeting point for those who work or are interested in thisfield, and an important showcase for exhibitors coming not only from Italy butalso from abroad. 33% of the 235 exhibitors that took part in the firstexhibition, indeed, came from abroad. There were also 20 foreign delegates, 4of them coming from outside the EU. Most exhibitors (50%) belonged to the fieldof accessories, 31% to the sector of camper vans and caravans and 19% totourism press and associations. Also the data concerning the number of visitorsare outstanding: over 133.000 camping and outdoor tourism lovers andprofessionals visited the 90.000 m2 exhibitory space, with a peak on theopening day. Expectations for the second year of the exhibitionsare very high, also because much has been done to improve the offer of theevent - not only as exhibitors is concerned - with an expansion of food andhospitality services and renovations of the exhibitory space, in order to meetthe needs and desires of visitors in the best possible way. There will be, forexample, two new pavilions of 50 m2, camping areas, a childrens space and manyinteresting entertainment events.
