All in all you'll have 30-40 minutes at the bottom of the Canyon, and then you'll hop aboard your ?copter for the flight back up to the top of the Rim. The ride up is just as spectacular as the trip down, and it flies by the "Glass Bridge" (the Grand Canyon Skywalk) before landing at the top. The Skywalk is also called the Glass Bridge because its floor is made out of glass panels so you can walk out beyond the edge of the rim about 70 feet while standing about 4000 feet off the canyon floor. If you are brave enough to try walking on the bridge, you should buy the tickets at the same time you buy your tour package. Doing it this way is a lot cheaper than buying your tickets after you arrive at the Canyon. There are lots of interesting sights to see at the West Rim. I suggest catching one of the free shuttles and taking it to Guano Point, one of the West Rim's premier lookout spots. It's an interesting place for more than just its views ? it's also the location of an old bat guano mine. Visiting the Grand Canyon is a great way to get a feel for the real "Old West."
