There are 84 pillars at the ground floor, whereas first, second, and third floors have 56, 20, and 12 columns respectively. On the top there is a Chattri, found in many Indian historical monuments, that is supported by just four pillars. Meanwhile, the place is well connected to Agra and other nearby cities by motarable roads. The structure is built close to the harem, called Zenana quarters, which consolidates that the structure was used as a pleasure resort. It is believed that pillars in the floors had Jaalis between them. The royal women and the women of the harem used the pavilion of the structure, and that is why the jaalis were there. The pillars have beautiful carvings and inlay works on them. It is also said that architectural design of Paanch Mahal had the influence of Buddhist architecture.Simply put, Paanch Mahal is a must visit for the enthusiasts of history and architecture.
