While planning for tourism, what kind of accommodation to be provided to the different types of tourists must be decided. For this purpose, the status of the tourists, income level of the tourists, their possible programmes, pattern of expenditure, foreign or domestic etc., are to be taken into account. Number of hotels which will accommodate the rich tourists are found only in Port Blair city, but the inter-islands do not have such accommodation facility. At the same time, even in Port Blair, the accommodation which may facilitate the stay for middle class or lower class tourists is not enough and totally absent in the inter- islands where the tourists have to fully depend upon the PWD or Forest department guest houses.If any officer is on tour to the other island the possiblity of getting accommodation in such guest houses for the tourists will be nil. Tourists are frustrated when they face such problems in the interior places. So a suitable place must be chosen in the important inter-islands namely Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Neil, Havelock, Wandoor, Chidiatappu etc. and small hotels, rest houses, guest houses, youth hostels, dormitory accommodations preferably with first floor constructed which will suit both domestic tourists and foreign tourists who are at middle level and rich level.
