The steps to create a bootable USB pen drive are as follows,· Insert your USB pen drive of minimum 4 GBcapacity.· Type cmd in the start menu search menu andhit Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Provide administrator password or confirmation.· Or, click start > all programs >accessories > right click on command prompt and select run as administrator.· Or, open run, type cmd and hit enter.· Enter the following command in the commandprompt,1. DISKPART and hit enter.2. LIST DISK and hit enter.3. You will get the disk number of your USBdrive.Disk 0 is usuallyhard disk.· Select DISK 1, if you have a different numberon your system, then you need to replace 1 with that number, then proceed asfollows, 1. CLEAN2. CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY3. SELECT PARTITION 14. ACTIVE5. FORMAT FS=NTFS6. ASSIGN7. EXIT· Insert the windows installation disc and notedown the drive letter of your DVD drive. Suppose D as your DVD drive letterand H as your USB drive letter.· Go back to your command prompt and execute asfollows,1. D: CD BOOT and hit enter. Where D is yourDVD drive letter.2. CD BOOT and hit enter to see the belowmessage.3. BOOTSECT.EXE/NT60 H:( where H is your USBdrive)4. EXIT· Copy Windows DVD contents to USB.· Now your USB drive is ready to serve asbootable pen drive.Please not that this doesnot work for non-flash USB devices such as External Hard Drives.
