I have heard for quite some time that certain castles in Scotland are haunted. I am not one to easily give into these tall tales, but after hearing them again and again, you tend to believe in them. There are many accounts of people hearing, seeing, and sensing something in these places, but there is no concrete proof to support their testimonies. Regardless of whether or not these individuals actually felt, heard, or saw something in the old castles of Scotland, your mind begins to wander when you enter such places. Just like some of those small towns that claim to have seen several UFO sightings over the years, you tend to regard such accounts as hoaxes, but at what point do you start to believe in them?I have visited several times for business in the past 5 years, and have only recently ventured into some of the historic castles that are in abundance in Scotland. At first, I went to the ones that were outlined in my guide book, but they proved to be unsuccessful in my ghost hunt. Therefore, I began to ask around at some of the hotels near Edinburgh Castle. Surely if anyone knew of such sightings it would be those that are local to the area. While staying at my luxury Edinburgh hotel I came across an individual that claimed to have experienced a haunting on a recent trip to Edinburgh Castle. Needless to say, I wasted little time in booking a tour the next day. Yet, as was to expected, nothing happened. I did enjoy the tour, but I suppose I will have to keep trying to experience a haunting first hand. I suppose it gives me a good excuse to return to Scotland, which I do not mind in the least.
