Confucius Birthday Celebration

Confucius day is our day to celebrate the life and philosophy of one of Chinas greatest thinkers, Kongzi (September 28, 551 BC – 479 BC). He is a prevalent thinker in China’s Spring and Autumn period, Kongzi set up a system of government that was the progenitor of the modern civil service that is found in every country today, even though he instituted it as a concept back in 400 BCE. During this event, you will be introduced with his famous quotation and philosophy, and to have fun in our activities.
It is customary in Chinese culture for parents to bring certain items with them for this festival, items that are symbols for the Confucian qualities we hope our children will demonstrate in the coming year…celery芹菜（diligent）、green onion葱（ wisdom）、Rice cake年糕（progress）、calligraph sets纸墨笔砚(Four treasures)
