The LG GM205 is a popular phone for those that like to carry their music with them, and this delivers on that ability. It is a fairly straightforward phone concerning many of the other features you can find, but the music abilities is where this phone stands out. This is especially popular with younger people, but is gaining popularity across all age groups as an affordable music phone.It is a simple candy bar style, and is not a flashy model. It is designed to be a good daily phone with no frills, and features a 2 inch color display with low resolution. The plastic casing that houses the phone may not be able to withstand a lot of abuse and dropping, and it is one of the few things that detract from the phone.The buttons on the side make this phone easy to navigate the music selections. On the left, you have the volume control for the built in 2.1 channel speakers, with Dolby technology. This allows the phone to deliver quality sound from a small device. The left side also contains an additional SD card slot and the right has the charging port with the FM radio keys. On the top, you have a standard 3.5 mm jack which allows you to use your own headphones to get better sound.You do get a camera with this phone. It is fairly standard with 2.0 megapixels, and come with a 4x zoom, but there is no external button for this feature. There are no additional extras that come with the phone, but it will give you a photo with up to 1600 x 1200 maximum resolution. The quality is not the best, but it renders photos that are not pixelated as other phones of this type and price range.The phone contains 15 MB of internal storage, and the SD card slot can give you up to 2 GB additional, so you can have a large library of music at your disposal. It also contains Bluetooth technology to share your music with others, and is wifi and data capable for even more option to share music.The standard battery can standby for up to 450 hours, and gives 6 of talk time. There is a vibrate alert, customizable photo calling ID, and you can use any one of your MP3 songs as a ring tone. One of the major things that this phone cannot do is browse the internet and offer internet email, but you can send it from your phone, but be aware it is exceptionally slow, although it is easy to do.It is a small phone, being 4.2 x 1.9 x . 06 inches all around. It is also very light at 3 oz., due to the plastic casing, which makes this easy to carry around. Even with this, the call quality is still fairly good.The LG GM205 is a decent phone, and great for those that want to use it is a portable music player. It is affordable, and can give you some good technology for the price, but if you want more advanced features, like web capabilities, this may not be the phone for you.
