The Garner CDS-2500AHX Professional Tape Degausser- 208-240v 50hz is designed to erase all formats of media that are upto 6 inches in width. The degaussing field strength switch provides theoption to change between high and low field strengths. It is likehaving two degaussers in one. On low, the CDS-2500A is a continuousduty degausser capable of degaussing over 90 VHS tapes per minutewithout overheating. On high, the CDS-2500A is a high energy degaussercapable of erasing the newest metal tape formats of up to 2400 Oersted.To start erasing, simply press the "on" button and place the media onthe conveyor belt. The conveyor belt will transport the media throughthe strong horizontal and vertical degaussing fields produced by twodegaussing coils placed at 90 degrees from each other ("V" coildesign). For added convenience, the conveyor belt speed can be easilyadjusted up to 60 feet per minute. At this rate, the CDS-2500A willerase more than 90 VHS tapes per minute. For more efficiency, add theoptional FH-4 feed hopper. Degaussing Coil: For long-lastingperformance, the degaussing coils are vacuum dipped and baked. Thevacuum process draws the air out of the coil allowing the pottingcompound to coat each winding of the coil. The coil is then baked "rockhard" to eliminate vibrations that could eventually lead to shorts inthe windings of the coil. In addition, two thermal detection units havebeen wound into each coil to ensure that the operating temperature issafely maintained. When in operation, the coils are cooled by fanswhich are automatically turned on and off by the signals being sentfrom the thermal detection units. MS-25 Magnetic Shield Option: Forcustomers requiring an enclosed degaussing station, we have designed amagnetic shield that completely encloses the conveyor belt and magneticfields. The MS-25 magnetic shield option reduces the magnetic fieldsurrounding the degausser below the threshold limit values specified bythe American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).FH-4 Feed Hopper Option: The Garner model FH-4 is an automatic cassettefeed hopper that attaches to the Garner CDS-2500A degausser. This lowcost option dramatically increases the speed and simplicity of erasinglarge quantities of media. While the FH-4 was originally designed forVHS cassettes, the FH-4 can be adjusted to fit many other formats aswell.
