Samsung’s new flagship handset, the Samsung Galaxy S2 isalready selling well since its recent release, whilst the new Blackberry BoldTouch 9900 is receiving a warm reception from the market also. In this articleI will pit the two against each other, comparing some of their key features soyou can decide which device comes out on top.  ProcessorAn area which has seen rapid advancements on smartphonesrecently is the processors which power the devices. The Samsung Galaxy S2features a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, making it one of the most powerfulsmartphones available. The benefits of this technology are numerous; efficientmultitasking, improved loading times of web pages and super fast response timesfrom the touchscreen and user interface to name but a few. The Blackberry Torchdoes not feature dual-core technology, but still packs a powerful punch in theform of a 1.2 GHz processor. Although not exactly up to the standard of theGalaxy S2’s chip, it still provides the power to make for a great userexperience. Technically though, the Samsung Galaxy S2 comes out on top in theprocessor department.  ScreenThe Samsung Galaxy S2 has a large touchscreen, measuring upat some 4.3 inches. Super AMOLED plus capacitive touchscreen technology makesfor a stunning user experience, with some of the most advanced touchscreentechnology available being utilised. The screen on the Blackberry Bold Touch9900 is somewhat smaller at 2.8 inches, but the front of the handset isdominated by a full Qwerty keyboard, with the touchscreen an added bonus and afirst for the Bold range. The physical keyboard is something the Samsung devicedoes not have, although there is an on screen Qwerty keyboard. The screen isanother area which the Samsung Galaxy S2 beats the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900,but if you have a preference for a physical keyboard, the Blackberry Bold Touch9900 may be a better option.  CameraSmartphone cameras are getting better and better, with somedevices even boasting the ability to capture 3D photos and videos. Neither ofthese two devices have this, but both offer impressive cameras. The Samsung GalaxyS2 has an 8 megapixel offering which can capture hi-res still imagers as wellas 1080p HD video footage. It also boasts a long list of settings and featuresfor enhancing your photos, with full social networking integration which allowsyou to upload them directly to popular sites such as Facebook. The camera onthe Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 operates at 5 megapixels, so the results areslightly less impressive than the Samsung handset’s but very good nonetheless.Additionally the camera can also shoot 720p HD video. On paper the camera onthe Galaxy S2 is superior, but if this is a specification of little importanceto you when choosing a new smartphone, should not necessarily be a reason torule out the Blackberry, as its camera still does the job very well.    There is of course much more to each device than what I havecovered in this article, but hopefully by looking at the processor, screen andcamera you have gained an overview of what each handset offers. If choosingbetween the two there are many more factors you may want to consider; maybeyour prefer one brand or operating system over the other, or maybe you wouldfind one more suited to what you will be using it for; for example businessusers may prefer the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 whereas multimedia enthusiastsare sure to favour the Samsung Galaxy S2.
