The electronic cigarette is not new. People who buy electronic cigarette knows that this product has been in the market for years now. Despite some sectors apparently trying to shoot the product down from the shelves, the popularity of elect Active shredder safety technology for the small office. Shreds 15sheets per pass into 5/32" x 1-1/2" cross-cut particles (Security Level3). Patented SafeSense® Technology stops shredding when hands touch thepaper opening. Designated shredde

This process converts wastematerials into a clean synthetic gas and heat that can be used to generateelectricity. Is thePlasma Gasification Process (PGP) just another form of incineration? No. The PGP system is a thermal process that takes place in anoxygen-starved environment. Because minimal oxygen is present, no burningoccurs. By applying intense heat to waste material in the presence of small andcontrolled amounts of oxygen, the waste is broken down into its simplestmolecules and then recombined into an energy rich synthetic gas. This processis far superior to incineration because no emissions are released into theatmosphere and the syngas produced is rich in energy and is an efficient fuelfor creating electricity with gas engines or gas turbines How cleanis the Plasma Gasification Process (PGP)?The Plasma Gasification Process is beyond compliance with thestrictest Canadian or European environmental guidelines. The waste conversionprocess produces no air emissions, nothing is released into the ground, and allthe products of the process are completely reusable. Electricity generationusing the synthetic gas product is as clean as electricity generation usingnatural gas—the gold standard in clean energy. Whattypes of waste can be processed? The PGP system can process any waste stream such as: MSW(Municipal Solid Waste), biomedical waste and spent potliner, a granular wastefrom aluminum smelting, biomass, oil shale, automobile fluff, lead contaminatedsoils, municipal sewage sludge, paint sludge, drum reconditioning sludge, organic petrochemical sludge, illicit drugs, high metal content waste, coal andMSW incinerator ashes, paper mill reject waste, fluorescent light ballasts, asbestos containing material, explosives industry waste, rubber tires andindustrial hazardous wastes including PCBs and concentrated insecticides. What arethe products of PGP?There are three products produced by PGP. The main product of theprocess is a synthetic gas produced when the volatile elements in the wastematerial are reduced to their base molecules. This gas is used to generateelectricity by feeding it into the same type of gas engine used in theproduction of electricity from natural gas. The second product of the process is heat which produces steam. The steam is collected and fed into the electricity generation process toimprove its efficiency. The third and final product of the process is a glass-likereusable solid (otherwise known as slag) that is produced when the non-volatileelements of the waste material decompose. As hard and clean as glass, thissolid has a variety of uses such as a road or building material additive. Thesolid does not react with other elements and leaches less than the glass from acommon soda bottle. Is therea limit to the amount of waste which can be processed? There is virtually no limit tothe amount of waste which can be processed. The PGP system is particularlyadaptable to designing total systems around a multiple processing stringapproach. The string size for waste streams such as MSW can be up to 200 metrictons per day with multiple plasma arc generator heating systems per string. Theoptimum string size for other types of waste is dictated by the characteristicsof the waste itself. To learn more about Zero Waste projects that currently use or planto use plasma gasification process as part of waste management strategy, go to http://zerowasteottawa.com and http://zerowastevancouver.com/
