Numerous predictions from various research firms continued to flow in the beginning of this year but, notable research firm Yankee kept its lips tight and stayed away from making any prediction. However, it was in February this year that this group placed its predictions for this year. These predictions include a number of surprises and the most significant was about the future of tablets in the business sector. They started with the information that consumerization has reached its utmost point in 2012. Yankee analysts said that whilst, consumerization is not a new term for this sector, the size it has gained is certainly surprising and enough to trouble IT departments of the businesses. According to the predictions, 56 percent employees would use or are already using their personal smart devices and 20 percent of them ignore usage instructions and policies laid down by the IT managers. This will not the only headache faced by IT heads in 2013, as they will also have to confront the troubles arising from the complexity of devices. According to Yankee, 50 percent of IT departments will have to face tough time in managing software upgrades. This percentage has risen from 30 percent in 2012. Around 42 percent IT admin will face problems in distributing mobile apps and this percentage will witness the growth from 26 percent last year. Around 49 percent IT managers will be contending with the data costs. The signs of adopting BYOD culture will show no indications of fading away as the Yankee group has predicted that around 80 percent businesses will embrace it in 2013. According to a research, the percentage of companies prohibiting BYOD culture has dropped from 56 percent to 38 percent from last year. However, such openness towards BYOD and other similar trends will force companies to look towards more robust mobile strategies and advanced technologies. Another major prediction made by the Yankee group was that 2013 would witness penetration of tablets on a large basis. According to the study, the sale of tablets was on the lower side in the year 2012. It was predicted that the form would improve this year, as around 30 percent employees will start using tablets in their offices and out of them, 80 percent will be employee owned. A surprising revelation was that even the tablets of bigger brands like Apple etc. would find it difficult to replace laptops at offices. In the research, it was observed that employees still prefer smart phones for mobility and do not want to compromise in the terms of productivity. Laptops still remain an undoubted choice when it comes to maintaining or increasing the productivity and tablets are third or even fourth most preferred device. This data, although shows that it would be tougher to replace laptops as the primary choice of the employees, but this does not mean that the tablets will find no place in the future enterprise sector. As mentioned above that the form of tablet sales will increase in the future, it is expected that it could well be a hit as well.  CONCLUSIONNumerous research firms continue to predict the future of everything but the fact remains the same that the future belongs to them, who perform to amplify the revenue of any business. If they are laptops, no doubt, enterprises will embrace them and if tablets were found more assistive then, business owners will not hesitate from replacing their laptops with tablets.
